Newark, Del.-based Gore has about 2,000 workers in Arizonqa with operations in Flagstaff and the Deer Valley area of Gore spokeswoman Barbara Pizzalza would not say how many workerw the companyis hiring, but said it is starting to accepg applications for a number of positions including medical devicer engineering, manufacturing and R&D. Gore makesw a myriad of products including industriall andconsumer fabrics, fiber optic and copper cables, filtration systems, medical equipmen and compounds, and componentw used by the pharmaceutical industry. Gore’s medical devicew divisions develop andmanufacture surgical, vascularr and orthopedic equipment.
Pizzala said Gore alreadyt is hiring for a few positions in Phoenix and will be rampin up new hires but declined to givea W.L. Gore is known for its Gore-Tex fabricc used for clothing and thenew fabric-baser retractable cover that was installed at center court for this year’z Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London. The company’s Deer Valley center is located near Interstate 17 and Carefrere Highway innorth Phoenix.
